Got this monitor just less than a year ago and was watching some YouTube when all of a sudden my screen got covered in ghosting lines, I can see my mouse moving around behind the lines but I am not sure what the problem is, I’ve tried different cables and different devices and it turns out to be a monitor fault, unable to get a refund or replacement due to time running out and I am thinking of how to fix this issue without spending too much money.
Hey, change to 120hz and let me know :) I have the same issue. After 10-15 mins all the lines dissapear. After a lot of tries and forums, I’m stucked there. The problem is just with 144hz when it’s “cold”.
While I haven’t seen that exact issue before, the appearance and that you can see your mouse faintly in the background makes me immediately suspect the LCD failed.I would first confirm with certainty it is not covered by warranty and if so, use it while you still could: https://us.msi.com/supportIf that is not possible, it’s likely the LCD is dead and I’m unsure you will be able to locate replacement parts anywhere for the internal parts of a specific monitor. If anyone has a source, PLEASE let me know as I have no idea where to find such. Troubleshooting: To confirm the issue is the monitor itself, first please try disconnecting and reconnecting the cable between the monitor and PC as well as rebooting the PC real quick. I would then try testing a different cable between the PC and monitor. If the display is entirely normal with both cables and the other monitor, the issue is almost certainly the monitor itself. While I always advocate repair first, up-cycling is near second and with respect to your budget as your mentioned, pawn shops or Facebook groups regularly have used monitors for sale for cheap. Just try to view it in use or see a picture with a note stating date to confirm you are getting a working one.
