Hi all I’ve got a potential issue that I can’t get my head around. Been installing 5 series screens for over a year and have suddenly come across an issue with them. Particularly the 5c and 5s. I install the screen and return. About 2 days later, the screens fail (either with random touching ghost clicks or just not responding at all) If the screen doesn’t respond, usually a hard reset fixes it. Can anyone help? The screens are all purchased from Etrade so I’m not worried about quality. Is there just something I’m missing to cause the ghost clicks, the random screen not responding issues? I’ve checked to make sure tape is covering the backlight solder and that’s all good.
Also another issue I’ve found is if I place the phone on a non conductive surface and try to use the screen with one finger it doesn’t work. If I hold the phone in my hand it does. It has to be a grounding issue right?!
I had similar issue with one of the 5C Tried different screens and none of them worked properly,(properly sealed connectors, soldering joints etc) as soon as ghost clicks appeared i just locked the screen and unlocked, it worked fine for some time until it appeared again, sometimes even after 30sec or 1 min Ended up google’ing and found out there is somethin to do with static electiricity More likely phone itself is faulty hardware issue, sometimes people drop their phones and it seems alright after few drops but somethin gets damaged inside and appears only after.
