iphone4s 32gb white . it getting too hot when i put the sim card insert . it only remain in searching mode and battery is draining very fast like in 1 min 6% drained and get too hot from battery jack and the near by and middle bezel also from below the sim card . before it was working fine. it was dropped on the floor but working after accident . it worked for approx 6 days. now showing this symptom .
the reason it is getting hot it’s because the phone is trying to connect to a network and there is no signal prob….also you might want to check and see if your wifi is on. I notice recently with mine, if the wifi is on and it is not getting to connect to the wireless router, the phone gets REALLY hot…. Update hey simran, maybe you should check and see if there is something shorting in the area of the sim card - maybe metal particle slipped in there some how….
Hi my friends….. The problem is not the sim. The problem is the baseband chip ! This is the one that gets hot ! The phone searches for signal and even it is to low or nothing at all especialy in places with low signal … If you put your phone in airplane mode you will notice that it works perfect ! Thats the reason it doesnt gets hot because te baseband chip turns off in airplane mode . When you notice that the battery latst for not long time it is because the phone tries to find signal and loads all the energy that it can to find signal… And takes more energy from the battery to do that…. …. I beleave that the baseband chip is defected somehow possibly by drops of the phone …. With this as guide if some one finds something better it would be very nice ! Thanks

Simran… Did u work this out in the end? I’m having the exact same problem. Pollytintop - my signal comes back once connected to mains… But phone still gets super hot. Any ideas anyone? Phone gets super hot, no signal most of the time, and battery drain is rapid!

please i need a fix for this .. my 4s is read the network name in about section .. and get the carrier in setting but always searching for signal for a long time and then no service .. and also getting too hot. during searching and battery drain rapidly .. i think is a hard ware issue due to the baseband or the A5 processor .. i heard from some one that the processor legs (pin) not all connected on the logic board and its need a higher rate of hot air to resold correctly but there is a protective material may melt of higher heat and cause failure to a5 processor .. is this right or wrong please respond if any one know about this issue

Does anyone know hot to fix this problem? My IPhone 4S also have this kind of problem, and it is so frustrating because of this my Iphone works just like an IPad now. When I inserted the sim it will start searching for a signal but it will stay on searching mode and the back of my IPhone gets so hot. Can someone help me to fix this kind of problem?

Some tips : change the network selection mode to manual and select the preferred network. I had the same issue and it helped me to fix it.. though its not a great solution but for time being i have done this and it helps me in using my phone for longer time with no extra battery drainage. It’s happening to my Google pixel 3 aswell but I took the sum card out and it was running like new
