Phone has water damage and screen no longer works. Phone charges wirelessly, can’t tell if it charges wired. It seems that wifi no longer works (or is disabled) but phone is on cell network. I received a phone call, heard the ring, swiped around on blank screen and was able to answer. I tried taking a photo (double tap home and guestimate tapping), doesn’t seem to work (no new photos on SD card). Phone will not connect to adb or Android File Sync or Smart Switch or anything else. I’m thinking about buying a “for parts” phone on ebay that does not have a broken screen but simply a “phone won’t start” type of phone. Remove motherboard and battery from my phone and connect to the “for parts” phone. This seems much easier and cheaper than trying to replace the screen just so I can backup my data. And from all tear down videos, it seems everything snaps onto the motherboard, no soldering? Think this will work or have any other suggestions? Very much appreciated!
Have you tried giving the PC permission to access the data on your phone? For Smart Switch - when you plug it in the device will ask for permission and you have to hit “allow”, then Smart Switch will download into your phone (wifi not needed) which you have to hit the install key as well. i tried to get an image of where the approximate location would be to hit the key areas but sadly I don’t have samsungs lying around. Keep in mind you also have to have the device unlock during this process. Allow button is Mid-right section of the screen. Install is upper-right of screen. Good Luck
