Model: WSLS1100H0WW I was given this combo unit a while back and it recently stopped draining. Upon troubleshooting, I found:
- It will spin if select “Spin Only” and there is no water present. If I put the hose on the ground, it will siphon drain. (I brought it outside to troubleshoot and I ran it with clean water, no soap)The drain pump makes a humming noiseThe drain pump is not clogged with anythingNone of the hoses going to the drain pump are clogged.I recently purchased a replacement Official GE drain pump and it still will not drainThe washer is able to detect when the lid is not shut because it beeps to close lid when it’s running a cycle. I’m not ruling this out, but it’s at least a little functional. After a while of the washer not draining, it says “Drain” on the display. Basically it wants me to drain it so it can advance to the next cycle. So, before I start buying more parts, I want to ask the friendly people of ifixit! Thanks, Nicole
Hi @nikluv2020 , Does the new pump just hum as well? Have you got a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use it when testing for lethal AC voltage? If so measure the voltage at the drain pump terminals to check if the full voltage is being applied to the drain motor during the drain part of the cycle. If not, perhaps you know someone who can safely test it for you. Be safety aware when testing as the voltage will be at mains supply value i.e. 120V AC.
