My GE Profile refergerator is not cooling in the refrigerator,but is freezing fine. Any suggestions?
Hi, What is the model number of the refrigerator? Can you hear the evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment operating? It will stop when a door is opened and start again when the doors are shut. It will run as long as the compressor is also running. Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan which is outside the compartments near the compressor and can run regardless of whether the compressor is running or not or if the doors are open or not. If the evap fan is not running when the doors are shut and the compressor is running, then there is either a defrost problem, an evap fan problem or perhaps a temp sensor problem. The evap fan blows cold air into the refrigerator compartment from the freezer compartment to cool it down to the set temp. The evap unit is located in the freezer compartment that’s why it can be cold and the fridge is not. The above is if you have only the one evap unit in the model and not two, i.e. one in refrigerator compartment and one in the freezer compartment.
