i have GE GSH25JSDDSS How to defrost the freezer?

Hi, Your refrigerator has auto defrost so there should not be a build up of ice or a need to defrost it. There will be some ice forming but it should never build up as it should be automatically removed at least once per day if not more often. If that is not working you need to check if the refrigerator turns off (compressor stops running) at least once every 8-12 hours for about 20 -30 minutes. This is the auto defrost cycle operating and during this time the freezer temp should go up to 32 F (0 C) to melt the ice so that it is drained away and evaporated. The process is sped up by the defrost heater in the freezer being turned on. You need to check if it does go into auto defrost mode or not and if it does then whether the heater works or not and if the meltwater is draining away or staying in the freezer compartment.
