After having people over last night, i noticed water dripping from the ice maker. Upon inspection, nothing is working on the door. No water, or ice. The LED display shows the fridge temp, which I can change, and “Set Temperature”. I can switch between the fridge and freezer temps and set them, but after doing so, it never goes back to normal. I am pretty sure that, at this point, the fridge is not cooling, either. This is a GE GFE26J.

Hi, What is the full model number of the refrigerator, just in case the correct part is needed? Is the compressor operating? If so can you hear if the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment is running? The evaporator fan is located inside the freezer compartment behind a panel at the back of the compartment. Access is through the door at the front It should be running as long as the compressor is running. It will stop when a door is opened (either door) and start again when the doors are both shut, so you may have to listen for it when opening and closing a door. Try manually operating the door switch in the freezer compartment and check if you can feel the air from the fan. By operating the switch you fool the control board that the door is shut so it turns off the light and turns on the fan Do not confuse this fan with the condenser fan which is outside the compartments near the compressor unit and can operate whether the compressor is running or not and if the doors are open or not.
