Hi I have just started having this issue on a 5 year old machine. GE DCVH480EK0WW the machine turns fully off after 5 is min of any cycle. Some times it will run again right away. Sometimes it will not even turn on in diagnostic mode. after a few min it will start. Diagnostic mode shows no errors. If the issue is thermal shutdown of the motor, does this not record an error? I either need a new motor or a new control board…?
Hi, Here’s the service manual for the dryer. You can use the wiring diagram to check if the power is getting to and through the motor and also if there’s +12VDC and +5VDC on the control board. Not sure but looking at the manual it seems that it doesn’t test the high limit thermostat in the diagnostics, so there is no error code. Hopefully this is of some help.
