power light come on but the screen stay black
Take the memory out. Mine did the same thing.
3 possiblities: 1-bad ram module 2-remove ALL power supply to unit. Battery, power cord. Push and hold power button for 60 seconds. Try it now. 3-bad inverter board or backlight bulb.
“Blank/Black Screen” on a Gateway LaptopRidiculous problem. Simple fix. This works 90% of the time. Turn on Laptop. The tiny blue light means it’s on. Top left corner of the keyboard. The button next to “Esc”. Labeled “LCD” - Better known as “F1”. Press it. All good? I hope it was that simple. I also hope someone at Gateway does the company a favor and removes that button.
try adding a new os it may just need a new os no garentees that it will work
