Whirlpool gas cooktop. Large burner ignites properly and igniter stops once burner is lit. After the burner has been on for a few minutes the igniter resumes clicking and does not stop. Cleaned igniter and caps, aligned caps and still doing it. Searching I am not finding any information on the igniter coming back on after a few minutes so hoping for help here.
Hi, Did you mean GLS3665RS01? Does the igniter stop clicking if you gently tap the burner control knob? Check if the ignition switch (supplier example only) for the burner is OK i.e. not intermittently short circuit. Here’s a link to the service manual for the cooktop. Go to Sect.4-1 to view how to test the ignition switch. If the ignition switch is faulty there are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for WP8190913 to get results
