Chosen Solution
Hi all, I just purchased a used Wii U and the gamepad powers on, the button presses and sticks seem to work fine, I also hear the noises when I swipe my fingers across the touch screen so I assume the digitizer works, but there is nothing on the display itself, it is a black screen. I am unsure what damage was done to the gamepad if any as I purchased this used(the gamepad not working was disclosed so I wasnt duped by the person) Would replacing the LCD fix this issue?
Before buying a new lcd as a spar part I would recommend you to follow this guide in taking apart the game pad Wii U GamePad LCD Display Replacement If you are lucky it might be some dust or that a cable has no connection.
