My S8 keeps shutting down inadvertently so I made a factory reset and that did not help tried all the recommendations to no avail. After it shuts down I put it in the freezer for 10 minutes and it will restart. Indicating to me the battery is over heating and shuts off. But when I plug it into the charger I will still get a a charging indicator and power left meter. Just wondering is it the battery before I invest in this replacement battery !! phone is about 2 years old ??

Hello, Most likely it will be the battery since these Samsung phones are known for over heating so much that previous version have had exploded in the past. You’d have to replace the battery but most likely it’s a 50/50 to run into this problem again. If choose to buy another phone then go for another brand this time and give it a try.

Cheers!
