Chosen Solution

Hi! I have a Kindle Paperwhite, 6" High Resolution Display (300 ppi) with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi - bought in October 2015. Kept well, it hasn’t fallen down, nothing untoward. Stopped working. The screen had an erratic display for a while, and has now stopped responding. Can anyone help?

I had this problem with an e-reader and it turned out that it quit charging. After placing the e-reader on a new charger it started working again. The models we use in our school are all nooks but this may help you out too.

Did you find a solution to this? I am having a similar problem

Try tapping (or knocking with your nail) in the bottom right corner of the front. (Edit: you can also try bringing a magnet to that corner and bringing it away) If it responds, then I have a workaround for this, that I’ll publish as a “technique” guide within the next few days. (EDIT: here it is!) The only problem with that guide is that it will no longer respond when opening/closing the cover
