Hello, At Device Savers we only recommend doing a full assembly replacement on all iPhones. Doing the front glass is not recommend unless you are a manufacturer of screens as the process is extremely labor intense and you can run in to many obstacles if you are unfamiliar whit the process. To include damaging the LCD you are trying to save, ultimately costing you more time and money. I highly recommend recycling your LCD for cash and just purchasing a new full front assembly for your iPhone. “Unfortunately, the LCD panel is very securely glued to the glass and digitizer, with the entire assembly measuring 3.05mm thick. It appears that if you break the glass, you’ll have to replace the iPhone 4’s glass, digitizer, and LCD as a single assembly.” from the ifixit teardown. Many have tried to just replace the glass, most have failed. So if your glass is broken, I recommend the exchange of the whole assembly. Yeah, I just tried separating the LCD/Digitizer from the Glass and it cracked in multiple places. It’s best just to buy the two parts together to replace your broken glass.
i have a black screen glass cracked it’s in pieces i will try to separate it from what i have heard it’s not possible i will prove you all wrong i will upload pics before and after…
Is a broken digitizer (glass) can cause not working touch screen? I have same iphone 4 with broken glass and touch screen is working. Marco.
It is possible depending on how damaged it gets. If it’s cracked enough, be very careful of any water or rain. And I highly recommend using a decent replacement assembly. Installed a cheap one a customer brought in and the LCD is horrible. It’s very dark, and can only be viewed from a straight on angle.
