I bought a Pixel 5replacement screen from iFixit and the replacement seemed to go very smoothly but now the front facing camera only shows black. There is nothing mentioned about the front camera in the repair guide. Did I miss something?
Hi, just had the same problem after installing ifixit replacement screen. Re-opened up the phone and found a black plastic film covering the glass camera opening/hole on the back of the replacement screen. Hope this helps.
This guide to camera replacement on the pixel 5 shows the front camera as the final step, here on other devices not making sure the camera is in proper contact with the glass is sometimes the problem.
