Hi, I have already had this problem on another iPhone before: The flex cables are all working fine, but when connected to the motherboard, the front microphone only records a very quiet barely understandable noise. I checked the FPC multiple times but everything looked perfect. Also, every once in a while the microphone works normal again. I do think it might be because of the motherboard FPC but if I can’t even see anything suspicious with a microscope it’s quite difficult. Could anybody give me hints which pins are responsible for the mic? Or maybe other tips? EDIT: I checked further and found out that the microphone seems to be having some kind of loose contact, even while recording the voice switches between normal and quiet… Movements and sensors have no effect and the device is not really touched. I only don’t know what could be causing this annoying problem. Thank you very much
See if there’s a way to check microphone sensitivity settings. If there isn’t the next thing I would guess is an issue with the Audio IC but typically with that one you lose all speaker and microphone functionality.
