So as the title says, I was at a coffee shop doing homework with a friend. She was looking over my work while eating toast and a couple of drops of honey got on my keys. Unfortunately, we didn’t act fast enough and I have a sticky Command key that’s difficult to press in. What’s the best way to go about fixing this so it functions normally again? Thank you!
STOP! Don’t do anything to your system. You’ll need to visit an Apple Store and let them fix your keyboard. The design of the butterfly keyboard is just as fragile as a real life butterfly! Any effort to take the keycap off will likely break it and you will need to do that the clean around the butterfly mechanism. Apple has an extended warranty program on the keyboard so it will be a free repair! Keyboard Service Program for MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. Don’t offer what happened just say the key sticks and show them.
