Fridgidaire FFSS2614QS6A The water dispenser quit working. I unplugged the yellow connector from the valves on back of the fridge and when wife hit water dispenser, I got my 120v. So I ordered a new trio valve without doing much more troubleshooting, since this is a problem I have had on previous refrigerators. Replaced the valve and still no water. I noticed that the water dispenser valve actually works, but the brown “water filter” valve does not work. I did a quick internet search and it looked like it could be a loose connection somewhere or a problem with the ice maker heater. I decide to unplug the ice maker to get it out of the equation. Now water dispenser works. I plug ice maker back in and water dispenser still works. Ice maker is not filling up. I figured there would be air in the line since I replaced the valve, but it has been almost 24 hours and still no new ice. Where should I start looking? How do I trigger ice maker water to turn on so I can check voltage at valve?
Hi @tommysparks1 , Here’s a link to the wiring diagram that may help. Scroll right to find the wiring diagram and click on it do not click on the wiring schematic diagram as this is just a general overall diagram with no detail. It is not very forthcoming about how to turn on the voltage for the valve but it shows that the yellow wire from the ice maker should turn on the green (I/M) and brown (main) water valves and the tan wire from the dispenser controls should operate the yellow (water disp.) and brown (main) water valves. Hopefully this is of some help.
