As I plug the fridge in the lights go on, it beeps, but after a minute it causes a short circuit in the house. I turned off all other kitchen appliances and devices in the house, and it still happens. I live in an old house but the ampere should be fine as well so it leaves me to believe it’s something about the fridge itself. Can someone help me understand if I can fix this? where can I look at to see what the problem is? Is a secondhand fridge “Fisher and Paykel, active smart”

Circuit is moisturizing and shortcircuit

I’d be concerned any time that your refrigerator would pull enough current to trip the branch fuse in a fuse panel or the whole “house”. Typically major appliances are internally fused/protected to even prevent a home panel fuse or circuit breaker to open up on short circuit or overcurrent. Something has likely shorted and/or protection is missing in the power circuit of the refrigerator! Please provide a model # of the Fisher and Paykel.

buy a small circuit wall tester in Walmart or ae hardware , you plug it in the wall out let it lights up and lets you know if your wall outlet or wiring is shorted .
