Transmission has been rebuilt. Shifts great! It just lights up wrong gear. Unless I can get the light in park (P) or neutral (N) it will not start. I need to bypass safety switch or fix whatever lights up gears.
It sounds like you may have 2 separate issues going on here. 1: your shift cable needs adjusted to show the correct gear. And 2: you need to check the safety switch. That should be mounted on the transmission, so the light indicating the gear shouldn’t have an effect on that. Is it properly connected?
