Chosen Solution
My mac was fine yesterday, today it is typing everything in caps even when the caps button is off, it turned its self off and when it came back on it flickers grey intermittently and has a safe boot sign in red at the top right hand corner! I live in the sticks in Italy and desperately need some help!
Ciao! Have you checked your battery? A dying battery often swells up which then presses up messing up the keyboard & trackpad. I would download this gem of an app: CoconutBattery lets see how many cycles it has and what its state is. Post a screen capture of the main screen and post it here for us to see.
