welp, I think I just !#^&@@ away $500+ on Ifixit for a new screen for my MacBook because I thought that was the problem. Still having the same issues with a new screen though everything shows up fine on an external monitor so I’m at a loss on what to do now. Should I just take my loss or invest more into fixing the problem? Suspecting it is a faulty cable or gbu issue at this point
@weenie131 - To be clear here you are seeing the same grey hashing effect on both the original screen and the replacement? You will need to return the part (you’ll need to pay a restocking fee) as the display wasn’t your issue. I suspect your issue within the mux logic within the logic board. The 2015 15” MacBook Pro’s are highly sought! Many people don’t like the newer Butterfly keyboards and really want the onboard ports. Apple has finally listened to its customers! The new 16” model keyboard is much better going back to the older scissor design, still many wanted the ports too which didn’t make it. Frankly, I still think its worth fixing! I love my 2015 DG system and (I even have a spare) because Apple messed up.
