Hi there! I had the flexgate issue with my macbook pro, but because there was a tiny crack onn the plastic near the ‘macbook pro’ logo, apple wouldn’t fix it for free. I went to a repair shop and they quoted me $1400, becuase I needed it for online classes i did it. Just over a month later I’ve noticed white lines flashing on the screen and green glitching where there should be black. Also the plastic along the bottom of the screen is lifting at the edge and when you touch it it moves, so I’m thinking they put a fake screen on? What do I do about this? They gave me a 6 month warranty but can i call them out on giving me a fake screen for so much or is that normal? Thank you

I would go back and talk to them as you clearly have issues with the replacement part. As far as fake that’s hard to say, I could see this as being a QC failed unit what fell off the back of the truck to the scrap heap. Or, it’s a reworked display were someone replaced the damaged cable (people ship back to China the part to be fixed). As far as the front plate thats not plastic! Thats glass and I’ve had a few come in either damaged or coming loose Replace the LOGO Baffle on the screen with the MacBook Pro 15 “Touch Bar 2017 logo So be careful as it can snap with very little pressure. Give them a chance to correct things.
