I noticed when repairing the top right cellular antenna that the little flat flex cable that connects underneath to the motherboard is damaged. This little flat cable is something you can’t order anywhere except to buy a damaged overpriced Ipad mini 3 to pull that part off. My question is this…..Can I simply just use a small wifi or Bluetooth cable and connect it that way? It’s the same little round connector.
hello Frank, even more :-) You can cut off the damaged connector and solder directly to the board (socket of this connection). If this is your iPad, remember that it is permanently connected. Also remember that the cable has the appropriate resistance. If it is too big or too small, the antenna will not work effectively. regards,
