I have my old iPhone 6 I am fixing up for a friend, and the flashlight does not work, it also doesn’t work with the camera flash turned on. It has had this issue for over a year and I don’t remember a specific incident that would have caused it to stop working. The last time the flashlight worked I remember I took a photo and the flash came on and it was after the flashlight hadn’t been working for a long time. I was amazed that it worked and tested the flashlight to find that it also worked. Well about an hour later it stopped and hasn’t worked since and that was in June. In my efforts to keep an Apple product working for longer than a year I have replaced the front camera/speaker flex, the screen and digitizer twice, the rear/main camera twice, the battery twice, the home button, and the power button flex. The power button flex has the LED light on it so I figured it would be an easy fix, however it still does not work. You can turn on the flashlight on the phone, the light just won’t turn on (unlike firmware issues were the option to turn on the flashlight isn’t there). I have tried restoring the phone, resetting it, and power cycling it. I am at my wits end, I have replaced everything I can think of and the flashlight still doesn’t work.

To fix that problem it will require someone that does micro-soldering to fix as that is caused by a fault on the camera circuit. You may be able find a reputable repair shop locally that can do this for you.
