I have a 2015 Subaru Legacy, with 80K. I was driving down the highway the other day and looked down to a flashing red break light. It has not turned off since. My breaks are working fine, and my e-break is functioning properly. My dashboard is telling “electronic parking break failure” and telling me to check my owners manual- but that is just telling me to not operate my car because my e-break isn’t functioning, which it is. I just bought this car but not from a subaru dealership. I am at a loss, and other forms have not helped me.

Take it to a mechanic or the dealer and have them scan your computer.

The car has an electronic parking brake (not break) and it appears to have a problem in your car. Take it to a competent mechanic to fix it. Until then when parking on steep hills turn your steering wheel into the curb so that of it rolls away, it can’t go more than a foot. If you have an automatic, it’s not as much of a concern….
