Last night my phone wouldn’t charge, so I powered it off and plugged it in, the red batter icon flashed for a split second, and I assumed it began charging, I checked it an hour or so later and to no avail it was still dead. I unplugged it and hit power and got another quick flash of the logo This time with the cord icon signaling me to plug it in, I plugged it back in got a quick flash of the red battery and then black. I left it charging over night, I woke up and it was still black with no charge. I can’t dfu, or reset the phone as it’s completely dead.
DFU and reset will not fix this problem. The first thing you need to do is rule out parts. Start with a replacement battery than the charge port assembly. If the problem still persists you will more than likely have a faulty component on the charging circuit. An IC called tristar is the likely candidate and will need to be replaced by a repair shop that offers microsoldering.
