My Switch has one manufacturing defect: the backplate is not completely flush with the rest of the console. There is a gap in the casing right above the volume buttons, on the top of the unit. It looks exactly like this person’s unit. After some looking around, it seems this is a pretty common issue, so I’m wondering if anybody has fixed this problem on their own and if so, how did they do it? I’ve sent it in to Nintendo once, but they returned the unit without fixing it. Would replacing the backplate work? I found a replacement kit on AliExpress with several positive reviews. Has anyone here tried it?
I ordered replacement shell for switch from AliExpress and didn’t have time to install it yet, but judging by the looks of it, it is identical to the original. I can update you when I manage to install it.
