So I am trying to fix a badly damaged iphone 8 plus. I have unfortunately broke the flex cable of the home button and purchased an oem part knowing that the Touch ID function would not work. However, after a restore, the phone boots up to the screen “Press Home to Start” which I am unable to do. So I would restart the phone by unplugging the battery and power on to find out that the phone is stuck on the apple logo and after 20-30 seconds it would bootloop. I would appreciate any help on the matter!
Note that the phone will be stuck in a apple logo boot loop if the battery is not plugged in. If the home button is broken the phone will take like 5 minutes to boot. I recommend taking the phone back to apple with the original broken screen put back together and go for the screen replacement as they replace the home button and screen as a whole assembly. As you may already know the home button is not replaceable on these models without apple’s special ‘horizon calibration machine’ to pair the home button to the phone
