I was checking on a potential issue with my laptop’s logic board. Earlier before I worked on the laptop, there were no issues with its display. Since I rebooted, however the screen has changed it now looks a little like a classic Nintendo video game (kind of pixelated) …or a little fuzzy, like bad reception on a pre-digital television…if that makes sense! There are very fine lines on the screen, and those lines flicker or shimmer a little. Colors are also a little off. It isn’t affecting the usability of the computer, though. I’m using the computer to type this post. Still, I’m wondering if perhaps I didn’t reconnect everything properly inside the machine, or if there are any likely culprits for damage. I admit I am an amateur with gadget repair, so any hints/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To start with I would make sure the ribbon connectors are in squarely and there is no damage with the display connector. What you are likely seeing is noise which is getting into the video logic. A spill can explain this, what happens here is the solids of what was in the drink can be corrosive or can be conductive. Here the milk when dried is conductive over short distances. If you can see the spill you can try spot treating the area using distilled water on a cotton swab (make sure the power is disconnected before doing this - Battery & AC). If that failed, I would take the logic board out, take the heat sink off & clean the thermal paste off, then dip the whole logic board into a container of distilled water long enough to dissolve the milk solids. I would also use a soft brush to help loosen things here (be careful! You don’t want to snag anything). Once I was sure it was clean I would then dip the board in a container of 85% or better isopropyl alcohol to pull the water out and clean off the fats & oils. Then I would let the board fully dry, then apply a fresh coat of thermal paste and re-assemble and hope I fixed it.
