im needing to replace the clutch in my 1973 chevy pickup custom 10 350 engine and need to know how i can tell what the diameter is so the auto parts store can get me the new one please tell me how to tell without having to take it out the vin # of truck is ccy143f396948
There is a 10 3/4 and a 11 5/8 clutch and you should install the bigger clutch if it will fit. The thrust bearing is bigger and should last a lot longer. As you have to pull it apart to replace it, why not make a start and measure if the 11 5/8 will fit? You should be able to get the part the same day they are pretty common.
