Hi. I replaced the display on my MacBook Air last night using Ifixit’s kit. All went well. The new display works great, and everything else is functioning normally. However, the fan runs constantly even without intense usage. The computer is not even hot either. I’m worried I may have done something wrong during the replacement. Any ideas on how I can identify the exact problem? Thanks.

UPDATE 5/15/20 I adjusted the fan settings in TG Pro to “Auto Boost”. This overrides the OS control of the fan, and sets the fan speed based on the temperature of the computer. I attached a screenshot below. As you can see, everything looks good. However, it says the fan is at 0 RPM, but it is still running full blast! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OK I think I see the problem! Your fan has a tachometer within it which for some reason has failed or the circuitry on your logic board which controls the fan motors speed has a problem. You could try replacing the fan (hoping) but I have a strong feeling your issue is within the logic board. You’ll need to find someone who has the deeper skills to diagnose what in the circuit failed.
