My MacBook Air has been loudly blowing cool air from the back left corner underneath it whenever the screen is up. I have restarted the computer multiple times on multiple occasions, closed all open programs, stopped large processes from activity monitor, and left it shut off for a full day. Nothing has fixed it. How do I stop it? Also, it is a school-provided laptop, and the school Administration has locked changes to power preferences. The current power settings are as follows: Battery: Turn off display after: 2 minutesPut hard disks to sleep when possible = uncheckedSlightly dim the display while on battery power = checkedEnable Power Nap while on battery power = unchecked Power Adapter: Turn display off after: 10 minutesPrevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off = uncheckPut hard disks to sleep when possible = checkedWake for Wifi network access = checkedEnable Power Nap while plugged into a power adapter = checked These settings are admin locked. Thanks for your help!

You’ll need to look at what the sensors are telling you. You’ll need to install an app which you might not be able to. Here’s what I would install: TG Pro. You may need to give the system to the school’s IT person to install it.
