My optical drive on my day one xbox one was broken and non functional, so I removed it (all my games were digital downloads anyway). recently, Microsoft sent out an update that apparently included a hardware update that got me an error code E100 etc… Is there a work around for this? I’d rather not wait until I am able to buy a replacement. On the same note, I can’t force an offline update via usb either since the eject button in the “press and hold the BIND and EJECT button” step doesn’t actually operate anything. I understand that I will probably just have to wait until I replace the drive, but I was hoping there would be a fix. Anyway… thanks for your time.
Probably won’t help even if you replace the drive, you may have to get the original drive to pass through the update.
I have an xbox and the optical drive it faulty, just leave it in and I can still update games is that correct?
