I have a Late 2013 Macbook pro 15" laptop. My lcd cracked and I bought an entire display replacement from amazon. Cracked screen was still visible for 90% of screen outside the crack. I replaced the screen making sure the battery was disconnected and taking my time carefully removing all hardware. After installation the new screen was not turning on and I tried again to reseat all the cables but still no display. I then reinstalled my old cracked screen but now that is also fully blank, the apple logo is dim, and the flashlight behind the logo trick did not show anything. I have hooked it to an external display and the computer is as it should be via the monitor. I looked through a loupe to see if anything wrong with the display power cable but don’t see any bent pins or shorts. I do have a cheap multimeter but don’t really know how to use it for this. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Can the apple store be able to do anything about this?
@apu701 you want to let us know the model of your LCD’s and if they were both the same. It is possible that you Have issues with bend/broken pins inside your connectorBlown a fuse due to some issues with the used replacement LCDBoth LCD’s have finally failedOr, you blew some other component on the logic board For now, it sounds like it all works except the backlight. You can check the fuse (give us the logicboard number of your logicboard 820-xxxx) or post some good images of your board with your question. Right now I’d be looking at a new LCD first (just a hunch)
