Chosen Solution
I will be upgrading the Apple custom blade SSD (SM0256L) in my 2017 21.5” iMac A1418 / EMC 3069. I want to use the existing SM0256L in an external enclosure. What enclosure will work? OWC says they do not have any which will work. Thank you.
I don’t have an answer as OWC was the go to for me as well. I’m not sure why they don’t offer support for it. I don’t see anything different in the SSD from the older generation. But as it’s a closed interface architecture we just don’t know what Apple has altered. I fired off a message to someone who might know. Let’s see what they say.
