I want to connect external Apple iSight cammera to my MBP (early 2015) via Apple Thunderbolt-Firewire adapter. Has anyone successfully tried this? I guess it’s supposed to work, but I’d like to check before buying the adapter. I read in some cases the adapter doesn’t recognise the camera.
I’ve got one hooked up to my 2008 Mac Pro using a Firewire 400 to 800 but have not tried it using Thunderbolt to firewire adapter. I have a MBP 2016 running Mojave and the Firewire 800 to USB C adapter and the 400 to 800 adapter. So later today I will give it a try unless you get a definitive answer. Mind if I ask what software you are going to use and to what purpose? I have three iSight cameras and would like to set up a security system to utilize them ;-)
It works on a Mac Mini. I’ve tested with FaceTime and MS teams.
