was looking for an answer with my old monitor (acer x193w). when I try to extend my display to the monitor, the display will flash for a second. i tried pointing a flashlight on the screen and i can see something. do you know how to fix this?
Hi, Can you view the monitor’s menu screens OK? If not, since you can detect images using a flashlight it sounds as though there’s a problem with the screen backlighting. You model uses CCFL tubes for backlighting so there is either a problem with the inverter power supply in the monitor or the CCFL tube itself. Here’s the No backlight troubleshooting page from the service manual that may help. The manual shows how to dis-assemble the display - see p.29
