My MacBook A1707 died recently. The screen will not display anything, neither does the touchbar, caps lock indicator light etc, nothing seems to turn on or work at all. However the touchpad clicks. I can hold the power button and the touchpad will no longer click when pressed. Press the power button and the touchpad will start to click when pressed again. what could be the issue and are there any solutions?

Ouch not good ;-{ Your logic board is blown! The Touchpad has its own logic to enable the haptic engine. What you’ve proved is power is getting to it nothing more. Time to visit either an Apple Store or authorized service center which will ship your system to the local repair depot in your area. Or find a local independent Mac repair shop who has the tools and skills to fix your system.
