I replaced the home button on my iphone 6. I then tried updating my phone to iOS 9.0.2 and the upgrade fails halfway through with error 53. Apparently this is a hardware error that occurs when the logic board and home button do not match. Now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. Is there a way to make this brick work again? I thought about trying to solder a new home button cable to my original home button but i’m not too confident in that solution after examining the back of the home button. It lools like the cable slides into and around the button some how.
mwebst01, since you already know what caused the error you know that only Apple can repair this iPhone or replace the whole device.
man there is a solution , but u need to have 2 iphone, 1 working good and the other with the problem, both of them need to be the same model (srry i dont speak english well) you need to change the iphone motherboard from the iphone that has the problem to the working one , disconect the screen and homebotton(of the working one whit the motherboard of the iphone with the problem) , plug in to the pc and restore on itunes , after u finish just change the motherboard and you will fix the problem, im from mexico and that is a solution that we find
You dont need any heat to replace a motherboard. 1. Takethe screen off (2pentalobes) disconect all flexes and remove all screws on motherboard. Takes about 5/10minutes if you know what are you doing
