Got this iphone 5s here that i cant restore no matter what I try. I have disconnected every flex except battery and usb port, tried different battery different usb port. It always throws error 4013. (Loads to the apple screen where it shows progress bar of the restore, but instead of showing the progress bar it reboots itself) In my research i see it could be a bad front camera flex, but unplugging it doesnt help. When i kick it out of restore mode with reiboot it bootloops, sometimes stickin on the apple indefinitely or sometimes it will flash a red screen for a split second and reboot. So i checked for damage on the board. The only damage i can find is the front camera connector. On one side, the pins inside the connector are broken. See pic

Could this problem be caused by a broken camera connector (even when the camera is not connected) or could it be something more sinister? The screen that came with this phone is not original, and the screws could have been placed wrong. They were right when i removed them but who knows what was done before that. Or the nand could be corrupt? I have a donor board to replace the connector but dont want to risk it and waste parts if its likely something else. Thanks in advance for any help!

That board looks water damaged, clean it with isopropyl alcohol and then try to restore.

It seems many people met error 4013~ You can try the following tips;

  1. Reboot your iPhone
  2. check out the faulty cable/ port
  3. Is wifi network working properly?
  4. Clean up youriPhone.
  5. Restart your computer, reset your iPhone. If these fails, you should contact Apple. Hope it will work out.
