Hello everyone, I just changed my hard drive with a new one which is a SSD “samsung EVO 850 EVO”. It works well and I can write this message with my mac without problem. The only one is when I’m copying more than one file on my computer from an external disk. The error -36 is displayed and I need to copy each file one by one (and sometimes it doesn’t work). The hard drive is formated with a GUID partition and a MAC OS extended (journalised, encrypt). One of you has ever encounterd this issue and know how to fix it ? Thanks a lot,
You’er hitting a known issue with the drive cable. You’ll need to replace it, follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 Hard Drive Cable Replacement. You’ll want this version of the cable (the better design): MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable - Apple P/N 923-0104
Before completing any work, please do a complete backup if this Mac. The last thing you want is some data stored on the drive to get lost in the process. Thanks!
Hello Justin and Dan, Thank you for your quick answer ! I’m going to replace it, I hope it will work.
