Samsung Note 5 water damaged is it possible to recover all my data BUT also deleted it from the damaged phone as well ? Because I’m trying to get rid of my water damaged phone but there are personal data on it so how do I erase it if I only have a black screen with no sound ? Btw I made a quote at repairer and they are charging me $230-$500AUD to replace the LCD Screen & the Circuit Board needs to be replaced as well, Might as well use the money to buy a new phone ? How was the phone damaged ? Accidentally dropped it in Very Hot Vegetable Stock water with Vegetable Booster powder in it meaning there is salt in it right ?
Hi tony, Unfortunatly if the board does not power up the only way to recover your data would be through a FCC Transfer they are extremely expensive. Best option to keep your data safe would be to snap the logic board in half rendering it unusable. All the Best Steve
Instead of destroying the entire board, find the NAND chip on the board and just break that. Get a fine point screwdriver and a hammer. Put the screwdriver tip directly on the chip and hit it gently with a hammer until you see a fine crack. This way your data would be safe and the board has a potential to be used again.
