Chosen Solution
Let me start off by saying i am not very knowledgeable on these things. I have an old non working MacBook Air 13” Mid 2012, that still has a lot of my old files on the SSD that i need. I have been looking for an SSD enclosure to usb so i can transfer all of my old files, but i can’t seem to find the right one. I have already bought one thinking it was the correct one, but alas. This is the SSD that is in the laptop:
And this is the enclosure i bought that doesn’t seem to be compatible with the SSD shown above.
I have looked around the web to find a correct one, but i can’t seem to find any and i don’t want to waste any more money buying wrong ones. If anyone could link me to an SSD Enclosure that is compatible, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here’s a good reference to check what your system uses for a SSD The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs Lets make sure which drive you have, The adapter you have appears to be the correct one so if your SSD is not fitting it then we may have a different system than what you think yours is. Take out your systems SSD and compare it to the left most images here:
