How to set the Coolpix A10 to Flash EVERY TIME. The camera when set to Auto Flash only flashes intermittently when taking the same picture under the same conditions.

Fill in flash has its limits! One of the biggest is not waiting long enough for the flash to cycle. The compact size of an aim ‘n’ shoot camera limits the size of the flash unit. Between the small flash bulb and flash capacitor you may encounter points where the flash won’t fire off. This happens when you have an overly dark scene which requires more flash fill the capacitor may need to fully discharge to make a good picture and not recover in time for the second shot. Whereas a scene which only needs a little flash fill can recover more quickly to shoot a second and even a third shot is quick succession unlike the dark scene. Having a second slave flash can help here if it’s doing most of the flash fill in dark scenes.
