I recently purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.7l Hemi. I drove it home from work last night with no issues. I got back in to run an errand 20 minutes later, put the key in and tried to start it. I heard a “pop” from under the dash on the driver’s side, and all the electrical components shut off…dome lights, odometer, clock…everything. 2 hours later, after using my wife’s car to run my errand, I got into my truck and all electrical components were working. So I put the key in the ignition and tried to start it and the same thing happened. The battery was replaced less than a week ago. I took it to O’Reilly’s to check the alternator and it was good, but my starter failed. I’m lost here. What could it be?

It sounds like a fuse could be the problem. Very strange that they worked, and then blew again. I would find which fuse controls that circuit using your owners manual, remove it and replacee it with a new one. Once youve done that, get back to me and let me know if your issue was resolved or it’s still broken.
