Hi chaps. I have a old type 2005 ish 3 wheeled fourstar electric golf cruiser/cart. But it won’t run! I have volt tested throttle = good Batteries fully charged = good Motor = good
Anything else that it could be
Connected and reconnected cables to controller all seem good Controller Rating Voltage : 36V Maximum current : 30A Deficiency/Voltage Protect : 31.5v 12.5cm - 7.5cm - 3.5cm
Did you measure the voltage at the motor terminals as you applied the throttle? Update (03/12/2019) Voltage depends on type of motor, AC or DC. I’ve done some web surfing and have found some cart controllers varying DC voltage while others actually convert battery DC to a variable frequency AC drive. So, some motors are AC while others are DC. I suggest looking at the motor controller, search model/serial # on-line for a schematic. Also, you can check the motor label to see if AC or DC. If DC voltage show varying with changing throttle. If AC, then you will need to make sure meter is on AC setting before checking. If no voltage, I would then begin to check all of the controller inputs (safety interlocks, battery +/gnd, throttle input which is usually 3 wires coming from either the twist or foot peddle) before condemning the controller, especially if it doesn’t smell burnt. I suspect you have either a blown fuse, broken wire, or bad interlock somewhere.
