So my screen has been broken so I replaced it with a eBay replacement that came with everything, screen, speaker, prox sensor, home button. Everything works fine, except for the touch id (expected since I swapped home buttons). I swapped out the speaker to another one and still the problem remains. I also tried to restore the phone, no luck, and also inserted reinserted a headphone into the jack to see if it was stuck in headphone mode.. The 4 little contacts make perfect contact on the speaker connectors as well. Speaker phone works perfect but that is very annoying when out in public. Is there a differnt connector other than the one by the ear piece that could be bad?
I would replace the front camera flex cable with the original one from your broken screen. The front camera flex has the contacts for your ear speaker. I would also swap out the heat shield/mid plate from your original broken screen. The reason your home button isnt working is more than likely the cable that is connected to your heatshield/mid plate is not good. This is the issue with a lot of aftermarket parts, especially full assemblies. All the parts on that eBay screen are aftermarket. In the future, I’d buy from iFixit (which isn’t much more expensive and has a lifetime warranty) or at the very least find a reputable screen supplier and transfer the original parts.
