I need help with my macbook 2015, I was trying to reinstall OS by pressing command +R and I got some error in between, then I couldnt use the macbook for few days and I suspect the battery discharged. Now the laptop wont boot no chyme and no display. , Magsafe shows green light and changes to orange within few seconds . I tried following things Reset SMC, NV RAM,Disconnect Battery for few minsDisconnect battery and hold power button for 3 mins then let it go with charger connected But no use, Only once somehow it booted with battery connected and was showing lock folder suggesting NO OS, So I thought to restart and press command R to reinstall but again got dead. I have a spare macbook 2012mid charged battery, can I use it to test if its not a battery problem? I know it will not fit it the body but may be we can just plug it to test without installing it. Lets give this a try, you’ll need to remove the bottom cover and disconnect the battery following the first 6 steps in this guide MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Battery Replacement With the battery disconnected press and hold the power button a good 15 secs so the logic is fully drained. Then place the system on its side with the MagSafe connection straight up and plug in your MagSafe charger, your system should spontaneously startup, did it? If it did carefully shut it down via the menu and reconnect the battery and MagSafe charger (let it sit a good 5~8 hrs) at which point the MagSafe charger LED should have changed from Amber to Green, if it hasn’t its time to replace the battery!
